This series of poems was inspired by Antoinetta Gonzalez, the infamous Renaissance era "dog-girl."
Included in the Monstrorum Historia-- "the history of monsters"-- Antoinetta was both playmate and pet to the royal family for the better part if her life. She was also captured by painter Lavinia Fontana, one of the very first female royal portraitists and the first to create nudes from live models. This series puts their experiences alongside each other--the artist and the subject, both the observer and the observed. 22 pages. dancing girl press & studio.
